ParkWhiz is seeking a Data Engineer Intern to join our Data team for the upcoming summer. If integrating new data sources and creating ingestible datasets ripe for analysis sounds like a good time, this opportunity is right up your alley. This role is ideal for someone currently completing their degree and looking to gain real-world experience; it is a full time paid internship reporting directly to the Head of Business Intelligence.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with Engineers, Business Analysts, and Data Scientists on how to best structure, present and consume data
• Design and build ETL pipelines for a wide variety of data sources
• Assist Data Engineers to effectively capture, validate, cleanse, transform, and upload new data sources.
• Perform quality checks to ensure consistency, integrity and robustness of data.
• Dig in. You’ll definitely get real work experience creating real-time and historical datasets

What you bring to the table

• Strong programming skills: SQL and Python at a minimum
• Passion for data tools and processes that fuel business insights
• Exceptional interpersonal/communication skills
• Ability to understand and appreciate business context, problems and objectives
• Experience with basic relational database functionality and design - huge plus, but not necessary
• Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate studies in relevant course of study (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, etc)
