Editorial Intern
Neighborhoods.com/55Places.com is looking for a Jack or Jill of all trades to help with a variety of tasks for our Neighborhood News sites and 55places.com. You will have your hands in several aspects of our rapidly growing editorial operation, including writing and editing, researching, fact-checking and, in general, being an extra set of hands and eyes for our team.
Essential qualifications:
- Confident writer with a keen eye for grammar and punctuation
- Savvy researcher — beyond just Googling — who can interpret basic data
- Some knowledge of real estate, architecture, and neighborhood news
- Ability to multi-task
- Solid communication skills
- A team player ready to jump into an evolving editorial operation
What you’ll be doing:
- Collecting and compiling data for specific posts
- Identifying listings of cool homes (architecture, odd/bizarre, celebrity, extravagant, etc.) and doing outreach for photo access
- Identifying post ideas that will appeal to a national audience
- Assisting with writing and editing neighborhood news posts
- Fact-checking
- Identifying high-value and large-scale neighborhoods that deserve additional coverage
- Researching age-restricted communities and collecting facts and stats
- Photo outreach for evergreen blog posts
- Identifying unique listings and obtaining proper photo permissions
- Reviewing community pages for accuracy
Benefits:

- Pay is $12/hr. Internship will last 3 months
