What you’ll do:

 

Position Title: Security Intern

Location: Chicago, IL

Expected start date to end date: June 11–August 17th

  • Monitor for the occurrence of security incidents and respond using incident response best practices
  • Develop, document and implement information security procedures to enforce information security standards
  • Monitor the vulnerability scanning and security patching results
  • Perform log management base lining and metrics development
  • Develop and maintain security metrics including reports, alerts, and dashboards
  • Perform proactive threat and detection research and analysis
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic and security event data.

We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

 

Position Requirements:

  • College program or other professional designation or certification related to information security preferred. 
  • Security certifications such as: CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA A+, CISSP, SANS GIAC, OSCP, CEH
  • Knowledge of SIEM tools and management
  • Knowledge of Network and Host Security Assessment tools
  • Knowledge of computer forensics
  • Ability to research, analyze and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Familiarity with Python, Go Lang, or PowerShell scripting language to automate tasks
  • Prior experience developing and implementing security policy and/or standards desirable
