Legal/Compliance Intern 

Belvedere Trading is looking for a current law student (either 2L or 3L) to spend the first half of the academic year working at the firm on a variety of legal and compliance-related issues in the trading industry. Duties will include significant legal/regulatory research, drafting and reviewing corporate documents, and compliance tasks related to Belvedere’s responsibilities under federal securities regulation.

What our Legal/Compliance Interns do

• Drafted internal memorandum to the General Counsel and Executive Management Team
• Drafted, analyzed, and edited partnership agreements, employment contracts, and written supervisory procedures for the General Counsel.
• Participated in meetings and conferences with regulatory agencies, outside counsel, and other industry participants

Key qualities we look for

• Genuine and demonstrable interest in financial services regulation, US capital markets structure, and trading industry
• Self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced work environment
• Comfort with ambiguous and challenging issues, and ability to think creatively about problems and potential solutions
• Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills (oral and written)
• Prior trading or financial services industry experience is preferred but not required
• Prior experience in a business setting is also preferred
• Candidates should have strong writing skills and be comfortable working independently on a variety of projects simultaneously
