ThinkMarkets is looking for a hardworking and passionate Quantitative Risk Intern to join our Chicago team. This role will be focused on operational support of trading on proprietary platforms, as well as monitoring of market risk across the entire order book.
The ideal candidate is a rising senior who is passionate about quantitative finance and is able to work the summer in office (we practice extreme COVID caution and provide all necessary sanitizers, masks, and social distancing to keep the work environment safe). This internship will last from July up to Labor Day weekend, with the ability to work part-time once the school year starts if local.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor proprietary system of trade-based alerts and escalate as necessary
- Manage onboarding process for large trading counter-parties that require bespoke setups
- Develop robust, repeatable, and scalable operational processes, and communicate and manage these daily
- Provide operational support for trade-related inquiries
- Provide daily review and explanation of the positions, P&L, and risk profile of the trading book to management
- Liaise with colleagues globally to ensure smooth handover and synchronization of teams
Requirements:
- Major or heavy coursework in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL (R and/or Python is a plus)
- Understanding of fundamental trading strategies
- Disciplined self-starter with ability to make well-balanced decisions and solve problems under pressure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
