Quantitative Trading Intern

Our Chicago office is in the heart of the financial district in the Loop, and is made up by our Leadership, IT, Analytics, and R&D teams.
We are seeking a Quantitative Trading Intern to join our rapidly growing global workforce in Chicago. In this position, you will assist our Risk desk to succeed in all market making strategy and developing high-frequency trading algorithms.
This position is in-person at our Chicago, Illinois office.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor proprietary system of trade-based alerts and escalate as necessary
- Develop robust, repeatable, and scalable operational processes and communicate and manage these daily
- Provide operational support for trade-related inquiries
- Provide daily review and explanation of the positions, P&L, and risk profile of the trading book to management
- Assist with designing, implementing, and deploying high-frequency trading algorithms
- Explore trading ideas by analyzing market data and market microstructure for patterns
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis and provide technical support for trading and other related departments
Requirements:
- Completed or actively pursuing a BS/MS/PhD in Engineering, Physics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science or a related/equivalent field
- Proficiency in Excel and SQL (R and/or Python is a plus)
- Understanding of fundamental trading strategies
- Disciplined self-starter with ability to make well-balanced decisions and solve problems under pressure
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Prior experience working within the FinTech industry highly preferred
