Job Description
Repair Operations Industrial Engineer: Forming an integral part of a global Supply Chain Operations, you will help to develop and implement the Lean Manufacturing Maturity Level metric as a defined summer project to be tailored to the incoming intern, focusing on Reverse Logistics and development of key performance indicators fostering the creation of a Lean Office organization. Through proactively understanding the entire Repair Operations environment around the world, you will ensure a key set of metrics will gauge the maturity level of our Repair Sites when assessing their competences on Lean Manufacturing Principles. This is a spearheading initiative never applied in the Supply Chain Repair Operations; such pioneer mind set will position you to be exposed to senior leaders in the MSI Supply Chain organization.
Your responsibilities may include knowledge of some of the Lean Manufacturing tools such as: 5S, Andon, Bottleneck Analysis, Continuous Flow, Gemba (The Real Place), Just-In-Time (JIT), Kaizen (Continuous Improvement), KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Root Cause Analysis, SMART Goals, Standardized Work, Takt Time, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory
Candidates must apply good communication and interpersonal skills toward solving problems in a team environment. You will gain understanding of Motorola communication systems and how they are utilized by emergency responder organizations throughout the world and repaired when not meeting the advertised performance.
Basic Requirements
- Must be in a BS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering program
- Must graduate on or after December 2020
