Research / Design / Journalism / Science Interns
Join a brand-new organization that -- with your help -- could have a major impact solving one of the world's most urgent problems! We're offering paid internships in a variety of subject areas.
Global warming is perhaps the biggest crisis humanity has ever faced, yet very few Americans (or even people in other developed countries) are giving the issue the attention it deserves. Part of the problem is that humans are poor at reacting to "slow-burn" distant future problems and part of it is that scientists and activists for the past 30 years have been using ineffective language and communications messaging.
Funded by one of Chicago's most-successful entrepreneurs and supported by one of Chicago's top media companies (AccuRadio.com), we will launch later this month our effort to help people understand the critical nature of the problem and then drive them to effective action.
Using market research techniques and principles of cognitive psychology, we'll be commissioning consumer research to find a more effective way of communicating the issues involved. We then intend to disseminate that new messaging quickly, using advertising (e.g., display and transit ads), public relations, a comprehensive website on the topic, a daily newsletter, e-mails, a widely-distributed book, street teams, and more.
If you've got interests and skills that would help this endeavor, let us know! We'll see if we can find a place for you.
