The Challenge:  

We are looking for an enthusiastic Security Engineering Intern to join us and ensure that our customers are thrilled with our platform. This is a role for someone who is ready to jump into meaningful projects and work alongside a fast-moving team of curious individuals. A strong interest in security design and Infrastructure-as-Code and a deep passion for technology is needed for this internship. Overall, a strong work ethic and the ability to communicate effectively and creatively problem solve will make you successful during your time at oak9. 

The Skillset:

• Preference for 2022 and 2023 graduates with a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, cybersecurity, information security, or other equivalent technical discipline 
• Curiosity in learning about Infrastructure-as-Code and cloud security 
• Interest in security design and threat modeling methodologies 
• An aptitude for problem-solving 
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills 
• A passion for technology including technical curiosity and the ability to think critically, and create solutions for technology-based problems 
• Interest in working in a fast-paced, SaaS company 
• Enjoyment for all things security and serious interest in having fun at work 

In 30 days, you will...

• Get to know oak9! Learn about our systems, processes, people, and vision 
• Become intimately familiar with cloud service provider offerings and security considerations associated with them 
• Work with an amazing and innovative team 
• Research, review, and provide analysis of emerging threats that might impact our infrastructure and applications 

In 60 days, you will...

• Work with cutting edge technologies to automate how secure products are designed and built 
• Remediate vulnerabilities in accordance with risk assessments 
• Collaborate with teammates to develop, test, review, debug, or deploy code that supports security protocols 
• Troubleshoot, research the root cause of, and resolve security or risk issues with guidance 

In 90 days, you will...

• Work effectively with your team to identify security problems and improve the security aspects of their service(s)
