Site Reliability Engineer Apprentice
About the role:

Our Apprenticeship is designed to prepare you with the skills needed to meet real business challenges. You'll gain exposure to troubleshooting a broad variety of issues, implementing automated tools, evaluating processes, and resolving complex problems. At the end of the 6 month program, you will be fully equipped to join a team of experienced engineers, and contribute and collaborate with confidence.
What you'll be doing:
During the Apprenticeship, you will work closely with your mentors as you progress through our structured training program. You'll complete troubleshooting pairing sessions and code reviews with senior engineers, be part of the SRE auto-assignment rotation to troubleshoot different production issues, and will work on a capstone project drawn from our queue of projects with high business value. You'll have the opportunity to present your work and achievements to the Tech department at the end of the program! Once your project and presentation have been completed, we will evaluate your performance to determine offer details for further employment.
We're excited about you if you have:
- You are an aspiring engineer excited about DevOps as a culture.
- Familiarity with Ruby, Python, Java, or Go.
- Ability to write SQL queries.
- Passion for learning new technologies and acquiring skills needed for effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Interest in IT infrastructure and managing application availability and performance.
About our Site Reliability Engineering team:
The SRE team is uniquely positioned as the champion and guardian of Technology’s operational excellence at Enova, ensuring all business-critical systems and processes are functioning correctly (available and performant) for successful enterprise operations. This team is part of the TechOps organization which sits in the Chicago office. The SRE team has great exposure to many departments and technologies at Enova allowing for involvement in varied and diverse technology initiatives, including observability/monitoring initiatives.
