We are Relativity. A market-leading, global tech company that equips legal and compliance professionals with a powerful platform to organize data, discover the truth, and act on it. The US Department of Justice, 199 of the Am Law 200, and more than 329,000 enabled users trust Relativity during litigation, internal investigations, and compliance projects.
Our SaaS product, RelativityOne, has become the fastest-growing product in the company's history and we have consistently been named a great workplace. As we grow, we continue to seek individuals that will bring their whole, authentic self to our team.
We believe that great talent is not bound by geography and that what you do matters more than where you do it. Relativity has assumed a hybrid work strategy, allowing choice and flexibility for employees to work either from home, a physical Relativity office location (once safe to do so), or a combination of the two, within certain logistical boundaries. *Below are the teams within Cloud Engineering that are hiring interns:
Cloud Engineering – Kubernetes Infrastructure Services
If you are interested in pushing a major architectural change through an enterprise-level engineering organization, the Infrastructure Services team is the right place for you. This team is focused on creating immutable infrastructure to host multiple shared services in the Azure cloud. Currently focused on Kubernetes and Jenkins as a Service, our team will continue to leverage cutting edge technologies such as Docker, Prometheus, Istio, and more. Our efforts will help Relativity Engineering teams completely transform our architecture to be more cloud native, while taking advantage of everything a distributed microservice architecture has to offer. Actual experience using these technologies is not a requirement, but we do seek candidates with strong engineering fundamentals, self-motivation, and an interest in DevOps principles (ownership from coding to Production support).
Potential Intern Projects/Work:
- Development of Kubernetes operator applications
- Redundancy and high availability functionality of Kubernetes cluster infrastructure
- Testing automation System and dependency verifications
Cloud Engineering – RelativityOne File PaaS
Come join the FilePaaS team, which owns all unstructured data storage needs for the Relativity application. The FilePaaS team manages the internal storage servers upon which all of Relativity relies. We develop and maintain the infrastructure and the control plane that facilitates the provisioning and consumption of file storage space. We develop storage-layer abstractions to increase our platform's data management capabilities, reduce costs, and increase business agility. Our key challenge: how do we simplify and optimize the management of petabyte-scale cloud storage to the delight of our customers and developers?
Our team is looking to build out the next generation of infrastructure. Join us as we work to leverage cloud-native technologies to respond to the scale of Relativity’s increasing growth as well as to idiosyncratic nature of massive-scale storage. To achieve this, our team is using a diverse set of technologies, including Linux, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Powershell, C#/.NET, and SQL. As a member of this team, you will contribute to optimizing and refining the existing service, maintaining its operational state, adopting design and development best practices, and working with senior engineers to implement new features. You may work on our storage abstraction layer, data plane, as well as the control plane that manages these in order to deliver petabyte-scale, cloud-native storage solutions for Relativity.
Cloud Engineering - RelativityOne SQL PaaS
Our SQL PaaS team is building a SQL Platform as a Service (PaaS) unique to Relativity based on SQL Server and Azure cloud technologies. We are building a proprietary high-availability replication and database movement technology. The SQL PaaS is responsible for orchestration, provisioning, scale, configuration, and monitoring of data hosted in the platform. The technology is deployed globally in multiple Azure regions and hosts hundreds of terabytes of data and hundreds of thousands of SQL Databases.
Here you will have the opportunity to solve significant complex scalability, availability and performance challenges while learning new cloud development best practices using technologies like Azure, .NET core, Serverless Compute, Chef, PowerShell, and Jenkins. If being part of a team building out a PaaS sounds interesting to you, we would love to hear from you!
Cloud Engineering – R1 Monitoring & Site Reliability
The RelativityOne Monitoring and Site Reliability teams build systems to detect infrastructure and application level events before they impact customers. We funnel that data to RelativityOne Operations, Business Analysis, and Engineering teams for in-depth analysis on performance, utilization, and availability.
Join our team as we implement end to end observability with cutting edge technologies such as OpenTelemetry, powerful timeseries databases such as Splunk, and machine learning and analytics to monitor a SaaS application. The technical environment includes Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Azure functions, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Event Hub (Kafka), and Kubernetes; we code in C#.NET, Go and Powershell.
