Hi, welcome to PerkSpot. We're looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join our growing Tech team and assist with engineering and coding projects related to the buildout of PerkSpot's capabilities.

Meet the Engineering Team
PerkSpot's tech team is made up of Software Engineers, QA Analysts, and DevOps Engineers with one goal in mind - to keep PerkSpot moving and improving. We work collaboratively to optimize our application, making it as efficiently and user-friendly as possible. Because of our fast-moving, project-based structure, the team allows for significant opportunities for learning, growth, and diversity of work - you'll certainly never get bored here. Our work directly impacts the PerkSpot platform, and therefore our partners and their hardworking employees as well.
Your main responsibilities:

• Taking on coding projects; delivering coding projects completed according to specifications
• Delivering code that meets both PerkSpot's quality standards and architectural policies
• Delivering projects that adhere to PerkSpot's established SDLC
• Learning and following source control policies
• Addressing coding issues - identifying and debugging - with the help of other Engineers
• Writing and completing unit tests
• Attending to ad hoc pair-programming needs
• Implementing new PerkSpot code and features and documenting these within overall coding manual

What we're looking for:

• Availability from mid-June through end of August
• Must be an incoming senior student in college
• Required coursework: Object-Oriented Software Engineering (or equivalent course where you've designed and built a small project from the ground up)
• Experience in object-oriented software development
• Experience working with Agile software methodologies
• Proficiency in C#, Java, C++, and SQL
• Project management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and multitask
• Proven enthusiasm for the role; high standard of work
• Organized, methodical, process-driven style of work
• Excellent communication skills and desire to succeed

Life as a PerkSpot intern:
As an intern for the PerkSpot team, you'll be working 35 hours for eight weeks. During that time you will be a full-fledged member of the company and attend regular team and 1x1 meetings to track individual and company goals. During this time your focus will be on two dedicated projects - one team-specific, and one with your fellow interns. As you work through those projects, you'll meet with direct managers and mentors to receive tangible, constructive feedback on your progress and work ethic. You'll also get to be a part of the PerkSpot team - this means inclusion in company events and team building exercises!
