Responsibilities:

During your summer internship with FTD Companies, you will collaborate with associates to create FTD's Chatbot software for popular text-based messaging platforms like Slack, Facebook Messenger, Stride, etc. to enable conversational commerce for floral gifting. The software will be built based on open source Chatbot frameworks (botpress, Dialogflow, botkit, Ana.chat, etc.). Also, you'll research and select an open source Chatbot framework, create APIs for floral gifting, integrate with existing FTD Commerce APIs, and demonstrate Chatbot software by integrating with at least one of the text-based messaging platforms.

  • Get paid an hourly rate while earning academic credits (if available through your college)
  • Participate in "Lunch and Learns" to develop professional skills
  • Work in a fun, casual environment that encourages teamwork
  • At the end of the summer, you'll have the opportunity to present what you've learned! 

Who you are: 

  • Junior or Senior Status at your College or University working toward a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science.
  • 3.0 GPA and Above
  • Java and/or NodeJS
  • Understanding of REST
  • Javascript skills preferred (but not required)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Motivated to share innovative ideas and fresh perspectives
  • Excited to learn new things in an adaptive environment
