Background:

CancerIQ (https://www.canceriq.com/) is a venture-backed digital health company that uses predictive analytics to help doctors understand their patient's risk of getting cancer and dying from cancer. By making it faster and cheaper for providers to order cancer genetic testing and interpret results, we improve patient access to life-saving services that can pre-empt or prevent this devastating disease. We market our solutions nationwide to cancer centers, breast centers and genetics practices, and have grown 10x since emerging from private beta in Spring 2016.

CancerIQ was a winner of the 2016 Chicago Innovation Awards, and is backed by KGC Capital, Lightbank, Rock Health, and other experienced investors. We recently signed a strategic partnership to accelerate our growth, and need all hands on deck to reach our next milestone!

The Role:

The CancerIQ Product team is seeking a User Interface/User Experience (“UI/UX”) Design Intern who will be an extraordinary addition to our product team. As a UI/UX Intern at CancerIQ, you will be working with a team that is revolutionizing genetic testing services through our innovative digital toolkit. You will work closely with the Development, Customer Success, Marketing, and Business Development teams to identify, develop, and bring the product vision to life in a way that is user friendly and refined.

Our team is looking for a UI/UX intern that will be excited to take on complicated tasks and transform them into executable user stories for the product and development team. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, but the primary responsibilities will be to provide support to the product development process, from research to design and production.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Taking a product idea from ideation through development
  • Translate user and market feedback into user stories
  • Conduct research and gather data to iterate on user stories
  • Transform user stories into detailed business requirements for development
  • Handle QA testing and other testing support to ensure development quality of user stories
  • Assist Marketing and Customer Success in product feature releases

Requirements

  • Eager to learn
  • Exceptionally detail oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Highly organized with great follow-through abilities
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be willing to be based in Chicago, IL where our team is located

Bonus Points

  • Technical knowledge in design software such as Sketch, Adobe, Photoshop, Axure, etc.
  • Experience and/or strong interest in the health-care sector
  • Experience and/or strong interest in start-up companies
  • Passionate about the fight against cancer
