The Opportunity:

OppLoans is searching for next-generation tech talent to help grow the most valuable online lending company. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone energized by the prospect of joining a nimble, rapidly-growing business. If you want to roll up your sleeves and have a tremendous impact on both short and long-term growth, we want to hear from you for our Summer 2020 tech internship program.

What you get to do:

The Software Engineering team contributes to the development and improvement of the services we provide for our customers. Interns work alongside the full-time engineering team, learning basic principles of OppLoans’ business technology through coding, testing, deployment, and support of software. You'll gain valuable industry experience through developing services used across our entire technology platform. Responsibilities include:

• Web service development.
• Financial data analytics.
• Loan automation.
• Credit scoring.
• Data persistence and searching.
• Machine learning. 
• API development. 
• Full stack web development.
• Infrastructure as Code.
• CI/CD Pipelines.

What you will bring to the team:

• Please note, we will only consider candidates who will be in the Chicago area for summer break.
• 2021 graduation date (required).
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience using a modern programming language in academic or previous internship experience. Our collective team background includes Ruby, Python, Node.js, Erlang, Java, Clojure, Apex, and C++. Show us you've solved non-trivial engineering problems with your language and we’ll be interested in you.
