Support Services Intern
CSC Corptax has an exciting internship opportunity as a Support Services Intern. This position is based in our award-winning Dallas-Fort Worth office or can be remote. This is an excellent opportunity to learn our tax ERP software—used by the largest multinational corporations, national accounting firms, and consultants for their full tax life cycle needs. At Corptax, our solutions help companies redefine the way tax departments operate. From provision to compliance to planning, we offer the tools that tax departments need.
At Corptax, we view the internship program as one that benefits both of us. Corptax provides interns with valuable training on the leading corporate tax software with the goal of making them a knowledgeable Corptax resource as they enter the workforce. Corptax helps the intern become familiar with business return forms and schedules at both the federal and state income tax levels. Successful interns learn more about corporate tax department processes while making valuable contacts within major corporations, large accounting firms, and consulting organizations. Finally, Corptax interns receive support skill training, providing them with improved customer relationship skills. In turn, Corptax interns provide us with an additional support resource during peak filing periods and serve as valued team members. As a dual benefit, our interns may have an opportunity to become a full-time member of the Corptax organization or will leave as a trained user entering the workforce with skills valued by our customers.
Role summary
As a part of our Support Services Team, you’ll learn our corporate tax software products and assist customers in the use of these products. Additional responsibilities will include researching and validating return calculations, reviewing and updating documentation for both customer-facing materials and internal knowledge base resources, and other tasks as related to departmental needs.
Qualifications
- Self-starter who enjoys working in a complex ever-changing environment
- Course work, including at least 12 hours in accounting with an overall GPA of 2.5 or better
- Completion of the following courses (or their equivalent) with a grade of B or better:
- Introduction to Computers
- Business Computer Information Systems
- Federal Income Taxation
- Priority will be given to candidates who have completed:
- Taxation of C Corporations
- Taxation of Flow-Through Entities
- Ability to work independently when given overall direction
- Creative thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Desire and ability to learn new concepts and tools to solve problems
- Good communication and listening skills
Salary: This is a paid internship. Salary ($15-$20 per hour) will be based on college credits completed and experience.
Timeframe: Full time (40 hours per week) for 12 weeks.
