Position Title: User Assistance Developer Intern

Location: Naperville, IL

Expected start date to end date: June 11–August 17

What you'll do

  •        The User Assistance Developer Intern will assist the integration user assistance (technical writing) team in improving processes for the team and deliverables for 2018 releases.  This includes, but is not limited to:

    o   Evaluating customer-specific integration documentation and building a coherent, well-organized repository for such documents.

    o   Enhancing existing customer-facing documentation as part of a release cycle. This includes adding new functionality to docs, editing existing docs for clarity and organization, and learning the tools and technologies for producing such documentation – side-by-side with other team members. Researching existing documentation processes and proposing improvements.

    o   Researching existing documentation processes and proposing improvements.

    ·The integration user assistance team creates technical documentation for both external and internal audiences. We work primarily on medium and long-term projects. Some deliverables are tied to specific releases while others are release-agnostic; many are quality of life improvements for the integration development organization at SAP Fieldglass. On any given day, some team members may be documenting technical implementation details for new features, improving existing documentation for an upcoming release, or developing a new repository to provide instruction to an internal development audience.

    ·The User Assistance Developer Intern will help drive some of the 2018 integration initiatives by helping us improve business processes to make multiple teams more efficient. By assisting us in developing new ways to organize information, this role will enable the overall team to take on more work and deliver higher quality documents in a quicker timeframe.

 

Position Requirements: What it takes

 Our continued growth is dependent upon talented people with a variety of skills, knowledge and backgrounds. We hire Information Technology interns with experience in all the following areas:

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Confluence or other wiki tools
  • Ability to organize information so that it can be quickly found and used
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Effectively manage time and be organized
