Join us for a 12 week paid internship that offers personal and professional development, networking opportunities, and a Future of Work workshop. As an User Experience Research intern, you’ll be an active part of a team solving relevant challenges to today’s work needs.

User Experience Researchers at Upwork care deeply about understanding our customer needs and pain-points, and bringing their voice to our broader product team through creative research methodologies that help define and prioritize our product strategy. Upwork is looking for a User Experience Research intern that has a track record of developing and executing research that informs, and drives value.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work with our team to develop and execute research plans, including (but not limited to): identifying and framing user problems and research questions, developing screening criteria and identifying appropriate research methodologies, and conducting research with users (through interviews and/or surveys)
• Produce and socialize insights that mobilize the product team through synthesizing research learnings, identifying key insights, and reporting insights back to cross-functional stakeholders

What it takes to catch our eye:

• You have a basic understanding of research methodologies and how to apply them in your work
• You have experience conducting, synthesizing, and reporting qualitative and/or quantitative research
• You’re comfortable and enthusiastic about presenting research findings with cross-functional teams
• You are eager to dig deep into solving customer problems within the “Future of Work” space
• You have a ‘roll up my sleeves’ attitude when working with teams
• You are able to work remotely over the 2021 summer months
