IT - Operations Manager

With the advent of genomic sequencing, we can finally understand our genetic makeup. We now have more data than ever before but providers don't have the infrastructure or expertise to make sense of said data. Here at Tempus, we are building the infrastructure to modernize cancer treatment. By analyzing a patient’s genetic data in the context of molecular therapies, We empower physicians to make real-time data-driven decisions in clinic based on the comprehensive computational analysis of a patient’s unique pathology. We're looking for IT people who are passionate about changing the status quo and bringing cancer care into the 21st century.
As an IT Ops Manager, you’ll play a critical role in fulfilling the mission of Tempus by providing secure and private cancer care for our clients and their patients.
What You'll Do:
Lead a number of information technology initiatives, including:
- Managing the IT team.
- Evaluating new technologies for the Tempus enterprise.
- Managing various SaaS vendors and their products, including the IT ticketing system, productivity apps like Google suite, cloud storage apps like Dropbox, and conferencing apps like GotoMeeting.
- Leading training sessions to enhance employees’ proficiency using technology systems and applications.
- Managing and implementing various IT infrastructure projects like a wireless LAN upgrade or a VHOST migration, as examples.
- Supporting the CISO with a number of security and privacy initiatives.
- Working with and supporting of the initiatives of various business stakeholders:
- HR - Employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- TechOps/DevOps - Cloud infrastructure and product integration support
- Engineering - Software development support
- Finance - Develop and maintain an IT budget
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Understanding and experience with:
- Management of a helpdesk team, including recruitment, training, mentorship, and performance reviews.
- Implementing new IT processes and workflows across the enterprise.
- Demonstrate project and time management skills and the ability to manage expectations in a startup environment.
- Troubleshooting issues with installed software like MS Office and SaaS products like Google Suite and Dropbox.
- Implementation and management of Windows Servers, VHost infrastructure, and commercial wired and wireless network systems.
- Experience helping a company’s own SaaS product’s customers via telephone or otherwise remote.
- Operationalizing security products like endpoint and anti-virus/malware protection.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of directly supporting an information technology management program.
- 3-5 years of prior experience in an IT operational role such as network or systems engineering, both on premise and in the cloud.
Great if you have:
- Experience with auditing, policy writing, and risk management frameworks.
- Previous experience in the healthcare sector and/or with HIPAA/HITRUST compliance.
- Professional certifications such as ITIL Foundations, Comptia A +, Comptia Network +, Cisco CCNA, etc.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
