Javascript Developers are responsible for developing and maintaining Neighborhoods.com as well as our other products. Specific tasks include user interface development, enhancing our existing feature set, and designing technical solutions to complex problems. This is an excellent opportunity if you like working with newer technologies and toolsets to solve both technical and user experience related problems.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 and JavaScript
  • Familiarity with ECMAScript 6
  • Familiarity with Redux and Webpack
  • 6-12 Months Experience using the React JavaScript framework in a production environment
  • Experience developing React components to be used server-side within a NodeJS application server
  • Experience developing mobile-friendly, responsive web applications
  • Strong understanding of cross-browser and cross-device compatibility practices
  • Experience working with service-oriented systems and asynchronous http requests
  • An interest in working with new technologies
  • Experience working with continuous integration systems like Jenkins or Travis
  • Experience writing and reading API contracts using Swagger or a similar tool

What You'll be Doing:

  • Developing code and technical designs for existing and new products, with a strong focus on quality, performance and maintainability.
  • Participating in our engineering culture, with an emphasis on contributing ideas, thoughts, and constructive feedback regarding the work of others on our team.
  • Collaborating with designers, back-end developers, and product stakeholders to deliver technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Creating rich, interactive user-experiences with modern technologies
  • Assisting with interviewing, onboarding, and training engineers as they join the team.
  • Mentoring junior engineers

Education and Experience:

  • At least one year of hands on front-end development
  • Bachelor's Degree, vocational training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
