Department OverviewConsulting Services GIS team delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems Mobile Data Computing and GIS services to support data feeding into these systems.
Job Description

This position will a Co-Op GIS Specialist role to perform duties within the GIS Deployment teams areas of responsibility. Tasks will include:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional setting 

  • Demonstrate basic problem solving skills

  • Analyze and create supporting GIS documentation

  • Create geographic datasets and supporting map documents

  • Assist in analyzing existing datasets and assist in creating supporting data reports

  • Assist in team development activities

  • Perform basic computer functions, including data entry, document creation and presentation development using standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint etc.)

  • Work independently as well as with other individuals in person as well as remotely.

  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects from inception to completion while keeping in mind deadlines.

This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the US.

Basic Requirements

  • Current student in final Fall or Spring semester pursuing a Degree in Computer Science, Geography or another GIS related field.

  • Interested in GIS relating to public safety and CAD,RMS (Computer Aided Dispatch) software.

  • Experience using ESRI products such as ArcMap, ArcCatalog and/or ArcPro, ArcGIS Online to collect, analyze data, manipulate data and create maps. 

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position
