Attorney
Job Description Summary
Due to the rapid growth of its business, CCC is adding an attorney to its Law Department. Reporting to CCC’s General Counsel, this attorney will join a collegial Law Department dedicated to providing first rate legal services to CCC. Ideal candidates for this role have 8-12 years of broad commercial law experience, with specific expertise in technology and other commercial transactions, new product support and data privacy. Experience in intellectual property is preferred, but not required.
Job Duties
The Attorney will have responsibility for a variety of legal matters within the Law Department. Although the position will involve some management of or consultation with outside counsel, the Corporate Counsel will directly handle most matters.
Specific responsibilities include:
Draft and negotiate software and data licenses
Support product strategy and management teams, specifically in regards to new software product and data related initiatives
Draft and negotiate procurement agreements, such as technology and marketing
Manage intellectual property and related processes
Assist with M&A transactions, including due diligence, documentation, and transition work
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will come from a business-oriented and results-based environment. Experience in a software as a service or data industry is desirable, but not required. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effectively partnering with internal business clients and working in a fast-paced environment.
J..D. with excellent undergraduate credentials
8-12 years of legal experience, in both a top, commercial law firm and a corporate law department preferred
A demonstrated ability to take a hands on, lead role in projects with limited staffing, to be a self-starter, and to be able to work independently with limited supervision
Superior oral and written communication skills
Willingness to take and advocate positions in ambiguous situations and the ability to balance business and legal priorities
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to deliver timely responses to internal business clients and external constituencies
Some experience managing and effectively utilizing outside counsel is preferred
Admission to the bar of at least one state
Ability to travel within the U.S. and possibly internationally (10%)
