Position Overview:

We are seeking to hire an experienced commercial attorney to join our legal team. You will be a primary partner to the business on general commercial matters. You will oversee all commercial contracts and work cross-functionally with various teams to ensure business alignment with commercial agreements. You will also play an important role in shaping policies and processes to aid in scaling of our legal department.

Reports To: Vice President, General Counsel

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements to support customer sales, purchase of software, and services from vendors and other partnerships
• Manage processes and workflows governing the intake, review, and approval of commercial agreements
• Develop and maintain applicable playbooks
• Negotiate data privacy agreements and manage compliance with CCPA, GDPR, and other data compliance laws as it relates to commercial contracts
• Provide input on a contracts management system and contract processes to optimize interactions with our sales team
• Develop and implement innovative ways to scale commercial legal processes
• Handle ad-hoc projects across a spectrum of complex business, legal, and strategic issues

Requirements:

• BBA / BA / BS degree required
• JD required + admission to a state / DC bar
• Experience with data privacy, data security, and intellectual property as it relates to commercial contracts
• 3-7 years’ experience in commercial law

Preferred Skills:

• Tech experience preferred
