Corporate Attorney (Hybrid)
As our Corporate Attorney (Corporate Counsel) you will conduct legal research and work collaboratively with the organization's legal team. Your main duties will be to support Origami's Sales and Services organizations in the contracting process with clients and prospective clients, reviewing and writing various internal legal contracts, negotiating, and managing vendor contracts. This role will be based in our Chicago office and will work a flexible hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates complex agreements including software licenses, technology agreements, web-based terms and conditions, sales, service and maintenance agreements, leases, and non-disclosure agreements.
- Researches and drafts legal memoranda while communicating and negotiating with clients and vendors.
- Provides sound, practical legal advice, identifies legal risks and executes appropriate risk mitigation strategies for the organization.
- Consults with management, advisors, tax experts, and accountants, as necessary.
- Advises business leaders regarding legal matters and potential disputes.
- Works on special projects with senior management, other members of the Legal Department, and outside counsel, as necessary.
- Assists the legal team with responsibilities of the legal department (such as tasks related to agreement templates, software licenses, insurance policies, office leases and HR documentation).
- Completes legal research and projects as assigned.
- Assists other Origami departments with legal-related questions and tasks
- Additional projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited United States law school.
- Active law license in good standing in the state of Illinois ideally
- 3+ years of professional work experience, with at least 1+ years in an in-house legal department for the Corporate Counsel position.
- Must have experience in negotiation, client management and contract experience in technology/software licensing and web-based offerings
- Requires excellent legal research, analytical abilities, and an ongoing knowledge of federal and state law.
- Highly responsive, collaborative, and service-oriented attitude.
- Familiarity with technical concepts in software applications.
