Grubhub is seeking an attorney in our Chicago, Boston or New York office. The ideal candidate will be a mid-level lawyer from a top-tier firm with strong organizational capabilities, attention to detail, execution and follow-through (experience in both litigation and transactional matters is a plus). This person is also a creative problem-solver, a self-starter with a great attitude and a team player. As Counsel, you will work closely with teams like sales, business development, and product to help solve thorny legal problems in an exciting environment and enable the business to scale and grow.
The Impact You Will Make
- Wide range of corporate and commercial work.
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, including software licensing, SaaS and other technology service agreements, and contracts with our restaurant partners and corporate clients.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to legal, risk and/or compliance.
- Advise business teams developing cutting edge products to ensure legal compliance in an exciting and growing business.
- Assist on other projects as needed, including general corporate, and overseeing external counsel.
- Demonstrate an ability to issue-spot sensitive and novel legal and business concerns, adjust frequently and meet demanding deadlines.
What You Bring to the Table
- JD degree and admitted to any state bar. Candidates can be located in our NYC, Chicago or Boston office.
- 2-4 years of experience at a top law firm and stellar academic credentials.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Able to balance competing projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to learn quickly and take on challenging new projects.
- Ability and desire to work autonomously, including owning projects, chasing down answers and taking the work across the finish line.
- Have a roll-up-your-sleeves-and-dive-in attitude
