We’re looking for an exceptional Director of Compliance to support our consumer lending business. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting all areas of compliance as we build and scale our U.S. operations. In this role, you will be a member of a dynamic and entrepreneurial team and will have the opportunity to drive our compliance framework forward and help shape our long-term regulatory strategy.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to business partners and senior leadership relating to development of controls for critical business processes to mitigate compliance/operational risks
  • Lead cross-functional working groups relating to compliance initiatives; manage meetings and ensure follow-through of associated action items and required tasks
  • Partner with the business to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, the compliance committee and key strategic partners
  • Maintain records relating to compliance initiatives and identifying opportunities to streamline processes
  • Apply broad knowledge to identify opportunities and recommend strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes
  • Oversee and/or execute compliance risk assessments, monitoring and testing
  • Oversee and/or conduct third-party risk analyses and assist with the development and implementation of our vendor management processes
  • Assist with the development and implementation of our compliance strategy and roadmap
  • Assist with the development and management of compliance and regulatory training
  • Provide the business with guidance and oversight for new product and new feature development initiatives

What you'll bring:

  • 7+ years of Compliance experience in banking, consumer financial services or a similar industry
  • Specialized knowledge of consumer financial services, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act/Regulation Z (TILA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act/Regulation B (ECOA), and Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) required; knowledge of AML/KYC preferred
  • Prior experience with external auditors and regulators, including interacting with regulatory agencies and representing the Company during audits, exams, and other agency actions
  • Prior experience with compliance monitoring, testing, and reporting
  • Proven track record of driving results and building effective relationships with all levels of management
  • BA required

  • JD and/or CRCM or other compliance certification
  • Strong knowledge of the banking industry, controls, and processes; prior banking industry or bank regulatory experience

Location

Our company is located in the heart of downtown with great access to public transportation (both Metra & CTA), coffee shops, and restaurants. Currently our teams are working remotely for the foreseeable future.
