Rewards Network is seeking a motivated and talented individual to join its Chicago-based Legal team as a Legal Specialist. The Legal Specialist will have the opportunity to work on legal matters of multiple varieties under the direction of in-house attorneys, focusing on revising standard agreements such as restaurant sales agreements (Marketing Services Agreements, Receivables Purchase Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements), reviewing marketing materials, coordinating insurance renewals and corporate filings, and providing information in response to litigation and dispute matters where Rewards Network is represented by outside counsel.
The Legal Specialist also has helps manage the company’s small bankruptcy claims portfolio, and performs some departmental administrative tasks.
This position will interact frequently with sales, sales operations, marketing, accounting, and the CEO’s executive assistant.
The ideal candidate will be pro-active, highly analytical, and a driven self-starter with superior problem-solving and communications skills.
· Bachelors’ degree
· 1 – 3 years experience in a corporate office environment in a setting comparable to a legal department or professional services firm
-Experience preparing contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and to compile vendor agreements
-Experience working on litigation pleadings to include litigation workflow.
· Experience with project management of time sensitive initiatives
· An interest in the law
· Problem-solving skills and a logical mind
· The desire and ability to work independently, and the judgment to know when to ask for help
· A willingness to take on additional duties as assigned
· Familiarity with financial terms and basic business concepts
