Grubhub is seeking a Paralegal / Contracts Manager in our Chicago or New York office. The ideal candidate will have outstanding organizational capabilities, attention to detail, execution and follow-through. This person is also a creative problem-solver, a self-starter with a great attitude and a team player. This position will report into our Assistant General Counsel.
The Impact You Will Make
Some Challenges You’ll Tackle (Responsibilities):
- Discovery. Provide support in claims, audits and litigation by gathering, updating and maintaining relevant information and documents; manage basic docketing and recordkeeping.
- Document Production. Coordinate production of documents and data, including e-discovery.
- Database Tracking. Update and maintain internal files, shared resources and project tracker/matter management.
- Law Enforcement Requests. Work with Grubhub’s registered agent to monitor and respond to service of process by law enforcement, government agencies and private litigants.
- Contract Review. Help review and draft a variety of third-party contractual documents such as NDAs, amendments, and other commercial agreements that establish business relationships with customers, vendors and partners.
- Approvals. Engage with legal and other internal teams to obtain approval for non-standard contractual positions in accordance with corporate policies.
Contract Templates and Repository. Collaborate with legal, sales, business development teams and other functions to draft and maintain contract templates; maintain contracts repository and summary of contract terms.
What You Bring to the Table
- 3+ years’ experience as a paralegal at a major law firm or in-house.
- Bachelors’ degree in paralegal studies or Associate degree with a certificate in paralegal studies from an accredited program preferred.
- Strong ability to handle information and business affairs with confidentially as appropriate, combined with a talent to coordinate effectively and gain trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels.
- Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize and follow through on numerous projects simultaneously.
- Intermediate to advanced software skills in Microsoft Office and Google Drive.
- Exceptional communication, analytical and writing skills, including collaborating with inside and outside counsel to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Strong proofreading and editing skills.
- Must be a team player who is willing to pitch in where needed in a fast-paced, growing company with demonstrated ability to work and communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability and desire to work autonomously.
- Excellent organizational skills; detail oriented
