The Property Management Legal Team is comprised of lawyers, paralegals, and other professionals who protect and enhance the operation of 14,000+ McDonald’s restaurants by resolving real estate-related issues in a swift, cost effective, and brand-sensitive manner.
Job Description
This person will be expected to think independently and creatively to lead and resolve legal issues affecting existing McDonald’s locations ranging from routine to complex in a fast-paced environment.
Areas of responsibility include, among other things: reviewing and clearing title and survey; drafting, reviewing and analyzing contracts, leases and other legal documents; preparing ancillary transaction documents such as escrow instructions, estoppel certificates, deeds, easements, memorandum of leases, restrictive covenants and non-disturbance agreements; preparing transactional documents to facilitate sale and leasing of McDonald’s portfolio of surplus real estate; balancing property management matters; handling eminent domain matters affecting McDonald’s restaurant sites; coordinating construction-related property management issues related to the operation of existing McDonald's restaurants; performing legal clearance reviews to facilitate the remodeling or closing of existing McDonald’s restaurant locations; processing requests to update notice and rent payment address information for leased locations.
Qualifications
- Paralegal certificate is required.
- A minimum of three to five years of technical experience in the commercial real estate area required.
- Desired skills/qualities include: Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize higher value work, ability to handle deadline pressures and sensitive information, ability to work well individually and also as part of a team, intellectually curious and adaptable to change, proficient in leveraging and embracing new technologies to drive efficiency.
