Title: Paralegal
Location: Chicago
We are looking for a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Paralegal. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support Optiver's proprietary trading activities and new business initiatives in a highly regulated industry. As Paralegal, you will play an important role within our legal team and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders throughout the organization.
What you’ll do:
• Review, coordinate and maintain data and documents within internal contract management and project workflow systems
• Manage broker and direct counter party approval processes; including coordination with both external counterparties and internal traders
• Review and analyze basic court documents, pleadings and memoranda
• Assist with the review and preparation of documents for delivery to external parties
• Review basic diligence requirements for current and potential brokers, counterparties, and vendors
• Coordinate necessary filings with the Secretary of State and City of Chicago
• Create and maintain legal knowledge base resources
• Manage legal dates and deadlines
• Draft and deliver legal letters, non-disclosure agreements, basic service contracts and other documents
• Manage Optiver’s legal files and internal documents—both hard copies and electronic files
What you’ll need:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• 2-4 years of experience as a paralegal; experience in financial services and familiarity with applicable regulations is a plus
• Familiarity with PACER
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Ability to work both independently and on a team
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Solid organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple on-going projects in fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required; we will not sponsor individuals for employment authorization for this job opening
