Job Description:

Successful candidates will have at least 6+ years of litigation support experience. Candidates who also have corporate transactional experience have a significant advantage. The Paralegal will be responsible for general legal support to the Guaranteed Rate, Inc. and its affiliates’ legal department. Duties include interaction with business clients at all levels of management. The ideal candidate must be customer service-oriented with a professional, diplomatic, efficient and resilient demeanor and have the ability to handle a variety of matters.

Responsibilities:

• Providing day-to-day support on litigation and employment matters, including file organization, docket management, document collection and production, witness interviews, and general fact gathering.
• Drafting and reviewing correspondence on various matters.
• Preparing subpoenas and assisting with discovery.
• Assisting with trials and arbitrations, including preparation of exhibits and other file materials.
• Working with servicing department to proactively manage foreclosure and property-related litigation.
• In addition to litigation support, the Paralegal will also support corporate governance and transactional matters, including:
  • Assisting attorneys with creation and maintenance of contract templates and negotiation and management of vendor contracts.
  • Preparing and managing registration and maintenance of corporate entities.
  • Preparing resolutions, written consents, certificates and other documents related to corporate governance and officer authority.
  • Assisting with due diligence, transactional agreements and closing of various business transactions.
• Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certification from an accredited school.
• Preference given to candidates with in-house experience.
• Significant experience with litigation support. Experience with corporate governance and corporate transactions is a significant advantage.
• Experience in the mortgage, commercial lending or financial services industry is preferred.
• Excellent business writing, editing and proofreading skills.
• Ability to write supporting documents, reports and business correspondence.
• Strong organization, document management and prioritization skills.
• Excellent skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and managing computer databases.
