The Role 

This role supports the Regulatory Compliance Department at headquarters by assisting with administrative duties for a fast-paced, energetic cannabis company.  The Regulatory Compliance Specialist reports to the Assistant General Counsel and will receive assignments from the Regulatory Compliance team.

Responsibilities 

  • Assists licensing, advertising and packaging, retail and CPG regulatory compliance operations with meticulously tracking due dates and archiving documents.
  • With oversight from the Director of Regulatory Compliance, electronically organizes and maintains all compliance documents, using the company’s internal document control system.
  • Maintains the monthly compliance calendar for personnel and calendars regulatory compliance due dates.
  • Handles all calendaring and scheduling of meetings, calls, and planning of travel itineraries for the Regulatory Compliance team.
  • Works with the Regulatory Compliance team to coordinate and organize documentation to send to regulatory agencies for license renewals and various submissions, including, advertising submissions; product, packaging and labeling submissions; modification, alteration, and variance submissions; deficiencies; and reporting submissions.
  • Prepare weekly compliance status report for General Counsel.
  • Assist with the creation and production of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Organizes the Regulatory Compliance Department’s SharePoint web page and keeps it up-to-date.
  • Provide general administrative support to Regulatory Compliance Department.

Qualifications  

  • Associate’s degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Paralegal certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 1-3 years of corporate paralegal or compliance experience at a law firm or in-house.
  • PC, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe proficiency.
  • Specific experience in the cannabis or similarly regulated industries preferred.
  • Ability to work in team environment as well as the ability to work independently in solving daily obstacles.
  • Accuracy, detail oriented, and confidentiality a must.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness 
  • Adapts and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment 
  • Possesses a high level of critical thinking 
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information 
  • Must understand and comply with the rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Green Thumb 
  • Must have a solid understanding of the Cannabis laws, rules and regulations and passion to further their understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws. 

Additional Requirements 

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
