As our Senior Contract Specialist, you will join our well-regarded Legal Team and take the lead role in handling a wide variety of in-bound software agreements and other supplier contracts. You will work under the moderate direction of our Manager of Paralegal Services with increasing autonomy over time.

This position is well-suited for a smart, creative, and detailed oriented contract specialist who can work with significant autonomy and enjoy closing a wide variety of in-bound transactions, with an emphasis on software and technology.

Role Responsibilities

  • Take the lead role in handling the Legal Team’s responsibilities for in-bound software agreements and a variety of other supplier contracts (in which Relativity is the customer):
  • Work on a wide variety of in-bound software agreements and technology contracts, including many types of Software as a Service (SaaS / Cloud) contracts and related master agreements with our suppliers (which range from the largest software companies in the world to mid-size or smaller niche software companies).
  • Work on contracts with our mission critical internet, telecommunications, colocation and back-up / disaster recovery vendors. Work on arrangements to terminate and modify these contracts periodically based on changes in our business and our locations.
  • Work on a variety of other vendor and supplier contracts, including consulting and professional services, recruiting and staffing, equipment and supplies, sponsorships, hotels, catering, event speakers and entertainment (including arrangements for our annual Relativity Fest user conference), as well as NDAs and RFPs.
  • In working on contracts, communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders and negotiate key points with vendor personnel. Learn to serve as our vendor contract Subject Matter Expert in answering questions, providing guidance, developing and providing internal training sessions, and suggesting contract strategies and efficiencies.
  • To support you, we will provide checklists, training and our contract database. We will also support you in learning about our software business and products, learning about the supplier products and services we want to procure, and learning how those supplier products and services relate to our business and products.
  • Support the Legal Team’s other responsibilities as requested by the Manager of Paralegal Services or General Counsel, including our sales contracts and other transactions, projects or programs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two or more years of high quality relevant contract work experience in a legal environment.
  • High level of intelligence, flexibility, creativity, diligence, and responsiveness.
  • Strong alignment with Relativity company core values.
  • Strong ability to manage and adjust priorities effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of software and computer technology, and strong desire and ability to learn more.
  • Reasonable proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Five or more years of high quality relevant contract work experience in a legal environment, including significant work with software license agreements, SaaS contracts, and other technology-oriented transactions.
  • High level of intelligence, flexibility, creativity, diligence, and responsiveness.
  • Strong alignment with Relativity company core values
  • Excellent ability to manage and adjust priorities effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of computer and software technology concepts
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and SharePoint / OneDrive.
  • Degree in business, computer engineering, or science, with high grades from a well-regarded institution.
  • Paralegal degree or certificate with high grades from a well-regarded institution.
