The Senior Product Counsel, Global Fraud will support the Global Fraud organization, which is made up of 4+ different affiliates located in the US, UK, and Ireland, and which contains 60+ services serving customers in over 60 countries and containing information on consumers from nearly every country on earth. The Senior Product Counsel will support product development, customer success, data privacy, and strategy work for the Global Fraud business, in concert with the Managing Counsel, the Privacy Office, the GDPR Center of Excellence, and general counsels of TU affiliates across the globe.
What You'll Bring:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and 4-6 years of experience as an attorney with experience drafting and negotiating complex contracts, including licensing and partnership agreements.
- Experience advising a global technology company on global privacy, legal and regulatory matters required.
- Ability to work closely in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment with other attorneys and business clients; ability to prioritize key work and manage lots of different tasks.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and written- and verbal-communication skills.
- CIPP/E, strongly preferred.
- Ability to interface with senior members of the business teams you'll support, including sophisticated business stakeholders with longstanding strong relationships with legal.
- Ability to build and foster strong relationships with, and relate well to, peers, staff, and management of all levels of the organization.
- A sense of humor; plays well with others; relationships matter to you.
Impact You'll Make:
- Make an impact in this rapidly evolving company by using your legal experience and skills to drive execution on legal, regulatory, privacy and transactional matters.
- Work with the Managing Counsel to provide legal assistance and guidance regarding ongoing legal and business matters for TransUnion, particularly in:
- Global Fraud product development;
- Global Fraud existing product support;
- Global Fraud customer, reseller, vendor and intercompany contracting;
- Global Fraud US and global privacy matters, including data governance and data strategy with GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, FCRA, DPPA, and other applicable regulations, strategic partnerships, and vendor relationships;
- Work with the Privacy Office to assess existing privacy matters and proactively support privacy compliance in product development and other work.
- Strategically engage outside counsel and manage budgeting for same, sizing risks globally to determine whether guidance is necessary and appropriate.
- Provide proactive legal counsel to stakeholders, including TransUnion management, in support of the foregoing.
- Make impactful legal decisions and business recommendations for an innovative, dynamic, public information-services company.
- Advise internal clients on legal and business issues and the implications of alternative positions to enable informed business decisions.
- Provide advice to stakeholders regarding changes in the law, contracts, or other legal issues that may involve the company's short or long-term strategic operations.
- Maintain complete confidentiality of company-related business.
