The Manager, Account Strategy falls under the Pricing, Inventory & Account Strategy function and is responsible for using data driven insights to partner with the sales teams to drive improved top merchant performance and close top new merchant prospects. The Manager, Account Strategy works closely with GMs and heads of sales for vertical business units in coming up with various levers in supply, marketing, merchandising, pricing, product, etc to deliver execution plans for the business.

Responsibilities

  • Understand e-commerce ecosystem and functions of various levers in supply, demand, pricing, etc.
  • Use insights to arbitrate and understand scale/size of various levers and can recommend course of actions
  • Utilize deal knowledge within team to fine tune deal economics and work with planning, merchandising and marketing teams to GRPN, customer, and merchant ROI via deal structure, deal merchandising and marketing
  • Oversee and optimize testing of deal structure and merchants
  • Oversee and optimize marketing and merchandising plans for merchants across product lines, Evergreen structures, promotional opportunities, etc.
  • Work with BI/Revenue management to analyze and identify opportunities and weaknesses within our merchant and prospect base
  • Use Groupon wide approach in validating tradeoffs 

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years professional experience, preferably in management consulting, B2B operations, tech.
  • MBA or advanced degree in quantitative discipline preferred
  • Experience in consulting/investment banking a plus
  • Excel is a must. Knowledge of Salesforce, analytics tools (e.g. Tableau), SQL/Teradata warehousing is a plus
  • Must be comfortable working in a cross-functional role
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills required
  • Self-starter, fast learner, adaptive to fast-paced working environment,
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability and confidence to succinctly convey complex information to senior management
