About the Job:

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will manage and lead an Agile cross-functional software engineering team. Specifically, you will lead the development and improvement of software solutions focusing on functionality and services in one domain of the loan origination or servicing process, while fostering a psychologically safe, productive team culture. You can expect to work with product management, information security, compliance, and other stakeholders to deliver new features while sustaining engineering and architectural best practices and operational excellence.

  • Monitor team performance and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership and other stakeholders
  • Stay informed about general security patterns and best practices
  • Ensure quality controls, including documentation, alerting, and monitoring, are built into the development lifecycle
  • Support preparation and management of the Technology department's budget
  • Design strategies for future development projects based on our overall goals and resources
  • Coordinate with external partners for new integrations and tools
  • Ensure sound, scalable technical decisions are being made by the team that balance short-term needs with long-term concerns such as stability, security, and extensibility

What you will bring to the team:

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least four years of management experience; must be comfortable with hands-on tasks
  • Experience with microservices-based architecture and full stack software engineering, preferably with some combination of Java, Ruby, Javascript, and React
  • Experience with cloud providers such as AWS or Google Cloud
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methods
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing engineers
  • Experience as an Agile Scrum Master / Team Coach on a cross-functional team is preferred
  • Experience improving diversity, equity, and inclusion on teams and the software organization as a whole

Total Rewards and Benefits:

The starting base salary for this position is $148,000 per year. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations. The total compensation package includes eligibility and potential for performance-based bonuses as well as equity grants dependent upon the role and job level.
