The Role 

As the Licensing Manager at Green Thumb Industries you will be responsible for managing a team of Licensing Specialists and overseeing the compliant and timely submission of all cannabis license renewal applications across the business Our ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, be able to work collaboratively to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, and use analytical skills to solve complex problems while adhering to firm timelines in a highly regulated industry.  

Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the compliant and timely submission of all cannabis license renewal applications across all markets 
  • Research and review applicable statutes and regulations within each state, county and local licensing jurisdiction in order to complete the licensing requirements for the Company’s facilities in all markets 
  • Develop and maintain a detailed database for all licenses, cannabis applications and renewal applications 
  • Maintain a detailed licensing schedule and system for tracking and renewing licenses. Provide monthly 30-60-90 day licensing reports and regular updates to the legal team.  
  • Participate in growth and expansion meetings and ensure that newly acquired licenses are timely renewed 
  • Communicate with regulators as needed pertaining to license renewal applications and general license inquiries 
  • Collaborate with outside counsel as needed to process required D&O badging and/or ownership disclosures 
  • General compliance support and guidance pertaining to cannabis licenses as needed 
  • Ensure facilities receive all renewed licenses in a timely manner to post on-site at the facility 
  • Oversee, manage, and train the Regulatory Compliance Licensing Team  
  • Conduct team meetings, individual 1:1s, monitor workloads, oversee team/individual projects and delegate tasks to staff accordingly, provide regular feedback on both individual and team performance and perform annual reviews 
  • Evaluate and improve efficiency of current team structures and processes as well as implementing new systems and processes as necessary 
  • Additional roles and responsibilities as assigned 

Qualifications  

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience required
  • A minimum three years of Regulatory Compliance or License Management experience in cannabis or other highly-regulated industry 
  • At least two years management experience preferred 
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills  
  • Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information 
  • Must have a strong understanding of the laws, rules and regulations applicable to the cannabis industry and passion to further your understanding and knowledge of the industry and the laws. 

Additional Requirements

  • Must pass any and all required background checks  
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry  
  • Must possess valid driver’s license 
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age 
  • Must be approved by state badging agency to work in cannabis industry
