Job Description:
The Commercial Product & Platform vision develops global technology products and platforms that delight our customers and enable our crews to operate our restaurants efficiently and optimally.
Manager of Resource Planning & Allocation reports to Senior Manager of Engineering Enablement. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the allocation and management of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure the successful completion of programs and initiatives within the Delivery Office. The Resource Allocation and Planning Manager will work closely with the Delivery Office Chapter department heads, Chapter Leads, DevOps COE, and other key partners to develop and implement resource plans, track resource utilization, and find opportunities for optimization.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Take charge of creating and leading an 18-month rolling forecast of internal Software Development Engineer (SDE) staffing needs, categorized by Chapter and under the supervision of the Senior Director of Tech Leads
  • Develop and implement resource allocation and planning strategies that align with the Delivery Office Chapter goals and objectives
  • Embrace an agile and collaborative approach, being open to shifting priorities and taking on diverse projects in the Engineering Enablement and DevOps areas.
  • Work closely with teams in Engineering Enablement and DevOps to understand their resource needs, identify areas of support, align resource allocation plans accordingly.
  • Supervise resource utilization across the Delivery Office and find opportunities for optimization and cost savings with the Chapters
  • Identify and prioritize resource constraints and work with key partners to develop solutions to mitigate those constraints
  • Develop and maintain resource tracking tools and systems, including databases and software, to ensure accurate and up-to-date resource data
  • Provide regular reports and updates on resource utilization, availability, and allocation to key partners, including executive leadership
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of resource allocation and planning processes and recommend improvements as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to resource allocation and planning

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in resource allocation and planning, preferably in a project-based environment, is required
  • Strong analytical skills are vital to evaluate data, identify trends, and make informed decisions on resource allocation and planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are critical to effectively connect with partners at all levels of the organization and to present resource allocation plans to senior management
  • A solid understanding of project management principles, including project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management is important
  • Proficiency in project management software, resource management tools, and database management systems is vital
  • The ability to identify and prioritize resource constraints and develop solutions to mitigate those constraints is crucial for this role
  • Must be meticulous and diligent to ensure that all resource allocation plans are accurate and up-to-date
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, and regulations related to resource allocation and planning is necessary to ensure compliance
