Summary of Position:

This position is a blend of ad trafficking and online campaign management, and requires providing exceptional customer service to all Cars.com clients and internal peers. This role is a key contributor to the Advertising Operations team: implementing online ad campaigns, troubleshooting and participating in testing and analysis to support the Sales, Technology and Product teams. The Ad Trafficker will work closely with clients to understand business needs and identify additional needs that service offerings may address, with the ultimate goal of becoming an integrated partner in client’s forward-looking online advertising strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  • Schedule and launch interactive advertising campaigns in a timely and accurate manner, using an ad servicing platform within technical specifications
  • Work collaboratively with Account Managers/Sales to recommend campaign modifications, leveraging understanding of advertiser and product performance
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance to ensure customer satisfaction and provide suggestions for optimization and 100% delivery of campaigns
  • Modify HTML and third-party tags to ensure ad server compatibility; test and verify tags
  • Own and manage special projects related to the ongoing maintenance of a continually changing advertising climate
  • Assist teammates as needed with scheduling and troubleshooting campaigns that affect tracking, implementation or reporting
  • Proactively investigate issues (delivery discrepancies, billing disputes, technical issues, etc) with clients, agencies, third-party platforms and/or internal parties, and provide resolutions to these issues
  • Process creative changes and change orders
  • Address day-to-day questions from Sales, Technology, Account Managers, Product and other internal teams. This will require being available in a phone queue
  • Strive to exceed expectations while delivering the highest quality product and results to our customers
  • Handle additional duties to accomplish business objectives as needed
  • Work independently and efficiently; learn new systems and processes quickly

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to articulate requirements with great attention to detail
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks; ability to prioritize responsibilities; excellent time management; pro-active, quick learner

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the online advertising industry, ad serving technologies, campaign metrics (CPM, CPC, CPA) and optimization strategies
  • Knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce.com) , OperativeOne and Google DFP

Required Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in AdOps or Account Management role
  • Hands on experience with ad tags, including deep understanding of Ad Serving solutions and order management systems
  • Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, Flash, and various rich media advertising creative technologies
  • Experience with rich media, mobile placements, standard display, text links, pixel tracking and re-directs
