Core Responsibilities of the Associate Director of Content Marketing

 

  • The Associate Director reports to the Head of Marketing, and is responsible for creating meaningful marketing content, activities, and metrics to optimize marketing strategies that will reach and engage both prospects and existing clients. A strong background and passion for excellent marketing execution is essential for this role.
  • The Associate Director will lead a cross functional team that will focus on creating and implementing different content marketing strategies and positioning SMS Assist as a leader in our industry. In addition, the Associate Director will assist with creating industry focused collateral that will help us differentiate ourselves against our competition and educate the relevant target audience. This role requires a brand publisher mindset: to create the content our audience is looking for and then to optimize the path to conversion.
  • Team Management: Assemble and manage a team (in-house and 3rd party) of content marketers that will support our different business verticals with various degrees of content marketing strategies (inbound marketing, videos collateral creation, social media, thought leadership and more)
  • Planning: Plan the marketing calendar and marketing campaigns around relevant industry topics. Content includes - email campaigns, whitepapers, case studies, infographics, video and more.
  • Account Based Marketing - Produce content for personalized campaigns to key accounts
  • Cross Functional Collaboration - Collaborate across sales and ops teams to deliver an effective strategy to drive results for key accounts/verticals
  • Reporting – Track, optimize and report on content marketing ROI.
  • Messaging - Be part of a cross functional team and assist the head of marketing with developing and implementing messaging hierarchy
  • Public Relations: Assist the Head of Marketing with our PR Firm
  • Social Media: Responsible for the creation and distribution of content on social media platforms and promotion of content through social advertising

 

Key Competencies of the Associate Director of Content Marketing

 

  • Strong writing, communication, and presentation skills that are focused at executive audiences and business leaders
  • Project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment and focus on the delivery of results in the form of engagement, leads and sales
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Strong cross-functional relationship management and collaboration skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • com and Hubspot systems knowledge a plus
  • Proficient with Social Network Marketing
  • Demonstrated skills in diagnostics, analytics, coordination, collaboration and planning
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously

 

Education and Experience of the Associate Director of Content Marketing

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in content marketing, marketing or public relations
  • Demonstrated success in leading fully integrated marketing efforts
