Associate Director, Strategy
iCrossing is looking for an Associate Director-level strategist with a proven track record of developing bold strategies, programs and experiences that help brands transform in a world gone digital.
Ideally, we are looking for a hybrid thinker(and doer): someone who brings a deep understanding of digital behaviors, media, technology and UX/UI to bear in guiding the creation of digital programs, interactive experiences and website development initiatives; but also is fluent in creating a compelling vision and narrative for brands grounded in business, consumer and cultural insights.
This role is expected to help define the opportunity space for a brand’s digital transformation, identify a roadmap of key initiatives and guide/support the implementation of specific digital solutions that deliver against the identified opportunity. As such, the role will be closely collaborating with UI/UX, Analytics, Content and Media counterparts.
Skills & Competencies:
Engagement Definition: Collaborate with clients to identify key strategic business and marketing challenges and help define the role that digital can play in addressing them.
Strategy Development: Help define a compelling strategic vision that matches business objectives to market & consumer needs, define digital roadmaps (“how do we get from here to there”) and guide development of digital experiences and marcom initiatives.
Insights Development: Define and conduct (or partner with clients to conduct) appropriate research activities, synthesize findings into consumer & digital behavior insights, and then connect the dots into a cohesive strategy that guides both digital experience design (web site development, app development etc.) and marcom program development.
Omni-channel Experience Planning: Provide an insights-based assessment & mapping of the current path-to-purchase as well as a vision of the ideal ‘future state’ and the offline/online opportunities to optimize the experience to benefit both consumers and the brand.
Audience Profiling: Using research, define key audience segments and develop in-depth personas (demographic, attitudinal & behavioral profiles as well as relevant use cases) to inform digital experience design (UI/UX) and digital program development (media & creative).
Measurement & Metrics: Work with analytics, media & tech teams to collect data, define KPI’s, evaluate business impact of digital programs and identify opportunities for optimization.
People & Team Management: Build strategy team expertise by mentoring junior strategists and collaborate with cross-functional teams to elevate the stature of strategy.

Specific Experience:
8+ years of marketing and digital strategy experience, with at least 3+ years of website, interactive application and user experience strategy development
Experience leading digital strategy & roadmap projects in complex business environment
Strong familiarity with consumer journey, persona and UX/user requirement development
Track record of leading research initiatives to inform digital roadmaps & UX/UI strategies
Preferably also has experience in digital marcom strategy/development
Prior involvement in the automotive category a plus but not required
Client-side experience is fine as long as some agency/consultancy experience
Mix of digital marketing strategy and UX strategy would be ideal
Bachelors degree required, MBA a plus
