Brand Director

DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a Brand Director who is passionate about telling the stories and creating the content that unites our community of discoverers. You will be the guardian of our commerce, product and media brands, and ensure a clear voice and alignment with the products we offer. You will also own our multimedia content strategy and overall approach to brand as a function. You will have a direct impact on our reputation, customer experience, and growth.

 

What you will do:

  • Understand and evolve our brands’ positioning in the market
  • Translate brand positioning into multi-media marketing and content strategies
  • Establish brand guidelines and work tirelessly across functions to make sure that every brand voice application is clear and consistent, working especially closely with:
    • Digital experience
    • Design
    • Merchandising
    • Owned brands
    • Customer acquisition
  • Directly manage execution of the content-related portion of brand strategy (digital video, influencer, social media, blog), using and expanding upon our in-house content team of three and pool of independent contributors
  • Ensure that the conversation within our community is well moderated
  • Use primary and secondary research to develop consumer insights and monitor market trends
  • Recommend additions or subtractions to our brand portfolio based on market opportunities

REQUIREMENTS

What experience you need:

  • 5-10 years of brand or content strategy experience
  • MBA with a concentration in Marketing/Brand from a top program preferred but not required
  • Experience building, managing and motivating a brand team
  • Experience managing across departments to achieve results
  • Experience working closely with creatives to execute brand strategy
  • Experience developing consumer insights using primary and secondary research
  • Deep understanding of digital media and social engagement strategies
  • Experience working for high-growth, early-stage companies is a plus
