Brand Marketing Director

As a Brand Marketing Director you are responsible for driving sales and building brand through the development and execution of all brand strategies and plans. Reporting to the VP of Brand Marketing, you will work closely with all parts of the Home Chef marketing team (e.g. Creative, Media, Retail and Retention Marketing), other parts of Home Chef (e.g. Legal, Ops, Menu) and external partners to develop marketing strategies, content and creative. You will be responsible for assessing performance of content and creative to improve future work. We are looking for someone who is passionate about the home cook and how Home Chef’s brand benefits can help make customers’ cooking simpler and more enjoyable. You are strategic, creative, detail oriented and a strong leader.
Responsibilities
- Develop Home Chef Brand Strategy:
- In close collaboration with Marketing and Menu leadership, refine Home Chef’s brand strategy for our core platform (existing products through e-commerce), new products and new channels (e.g. grocery)
- Lead integrated marketing plan process, driving omnichannel strategies and plans through collaboration with internal partners (e.g. creative, media, PR, retail) and external agencies
- Develop the Marketing Calendar
- Generate consumer insights from data and research, including any related consumer testing of brand marketing, including, but not limited to positioning, naming, campaigns, creative
- Lead Campaign Development:
- Develop campaign briefs
- Collaborate with in-house creative team and external advertising agency to develop campaigns
- Lead cross-functional content development process for all national and local campaigns, including digital, social, email, TV, print, merchandising
- Identify key marketing messages and channels and potential 3rd party partnerships for our target audiences
- Launch and Monitor Campaign:
- In close collaboration with the Campaign Manager and our in-house media team and retail team, successfully deploy all marketing campaigns
- Monitor and analyze campaigns, including postmortems
- Lead the Brand Marketing Team:
- Manage the performance and development of the brand team and agency
- Initially will have one direct report; may scale over time as company needs grow
- Qualifications:
- Strategy
- Develop brand strategies, plans and objectives
- Write compelling and persuasive briefs
- Lead cross-functional teams
- Consumer Insights
- Analyze and activate on consumer insights
- Lead consumer testing of brand marketing
- Able to write compelling and actionable briefs
- Program Management Skills:
- Able to easily move between high level strategy and detailed tactical execution
- Able to develop and manage campaigns and keep team aligned
- Responsible attitude, confidence, autonomy, proactivity, attention to details
- Easily move between multiple campaigns and other commitments
- Strong organizational skills, able to complete tasks in a timely manner while balancing time, multi-tasking and interruptions
- Creative:
- Experience in developing, evaluating and producing advertising content across all mediums
- Highly creative and imaginative, able to produce innovative and original ideas
- Ability to provide thoughtful, constructive input to creative partners (both internal and external)
- Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college; MBA preferred
- 8+ years of total work experience with some experience in marketing with a brand or consumer-facing company
- Food industry experience a plus
