Job Description With best-in-class banking, credit card and wealth management services, Chase helps nearly 1 out of 2 American households make the most of their money.
As one of the most-followed financial brands, Chase communicates with millions of social media users across its main brand channels on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter. Our social media team continues to evolve and we're seeking a Vice President to lead Content, based in either Chicago or New York.
As the Content Director for Chase Social Media, you'll play an important role in building and executing content and creative strategies to communicate important Company messages, tell compelling human-interest stories, and educate consumers on topics pertaining to their financial well-being. The Content Director role works closely with stakeholders across Communications, Marketing, and the various lines of business, and reports directly to the Head of Social Media and will oversee custom content creation (including graphic design, copywriting and animation), livestreaming and content performance reporting.
We're seeking an experienced content director with a background in social media and design to join our in-house team. This individual will partner with other communicators, designers, and marketers to create social media creative for the brand. As Content Director, you will be responsible for leading:
Social Media Content Strategy:

  • Develop editorial and creative strategies that align with Company goals, as well as the various social media channels (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter) and the audiences that use them.
  • Communicate complex topics to a consumer audience in formats that are compelling and easy to understand.
  • Partner closely with content strategists, marketers, and communicators across lines of business.
  • Keep a pulse on new and updated social media channels, trends, and proactively identify new and topical content ideas.
  • Prepare presentations for and participate in meetings with senior stakeholders to ensure project goals are met and manage stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Social media content creation across owned channels with emphasis on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Collaboration with brand advertising and sports marketing creative teams to develop social media concepts alongside larger campaigns.
  • Creative leadership on design and production for static and video assets.
  • Strategic collaboration on original social campaigns with PR and social teams.


Content Production:

  • Lead a team of designers to produce and write a wide variety of original content including graphics, short-form videos, and animations for organic content across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
  • Set cross-channel brand guidelines for Chase Social Media and produce content that demonstrates cohesion across other Company messages and a consistent brand voice.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules for capacity planning and production tracking.
  • Test and optimize messaging and creative to continually improve campaign performance.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Digital Design, Animation or similar discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years as a writer or creative in ad agencies and / or in-house experience working on and / or leading social media content
  • Experience building and leading content or creative teams.
  • Excellent writing, editorial and editing skills.
  • Skilled at presenting to senior-level stakeholders, explaining creative decisions, taking direction and feedback, and quick to apply changes.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Self-driven and able to be both strategic and execution oriented.
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite; Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Lightroom, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and color grading software. Portfolio submission required.
  • Strong project management and organization skills with the ability to proactively lead projects from start to finish.
  • Proficiency in audio and video production elements including cameras, microphones, rigging and lighting.
  • Ability to execute on big ideas, develop a compelling story, produce thumb-stopping creative, which often simplifies complicated topics.
  • Proactive by nature and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines; excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Strong writing and copywriting skills.
  • Team player with enthusiastic attitude and entrepreneurial spirit. Eager to learn, contribute, and make an impact.
  • Solutions and results-oriented, with ability to multi-task, prioritize actions and deadlines.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships in the Company, across divisions and lines of business.
  • Confidence to pitch fresh ideas, think creatively, and identify and solve problems.
  • Passion for storytelling, brand building, and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think critically; attention to detail and data curiosity.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
