Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the Manager, Communications and Engagement, through a variety of internal channels, you will use your creativity and superb writing skills to help take our employee communications strategy to the next level. Additionally, you will assist with employee events and volunteer opportunities that drive engagement.

What You Will Do:

  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute long-term marketing, change management and communications campaigns for our company-wide programs and initiatives
  • Draft internal communications, including articles, email and video
  • Maintain up-to-date content on FTD's intranet site, such as employee birthdays, anniversaries and pictures from events; update documents, forms and web pages as needed
  • Help drive content on Yammer, FTD's social collaboration tool; support with creative tactics and marketing campaigns designed to increase traffic to Yammer
  • Assist with opportunities for employee volunteerism, and promote them internally
  • Assist with coordinating events that drive employee engagement

 

 

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field required
  • 1-2 years' experience, or internship, in communications or public relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of AP style helpful
  • Positive, "can do" attitude and a desire to learn
  • Great organization skills, with the ability to support a broad range of projects
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and good judgment
  • Experience supporting websites or intranets strongly preferred
  • Basic understanding of the components of common web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), or willingness to learn
  • Experience with social software (such as Hootsuite), creative software (such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop) and other web-based technologies (such as WYSIWYG), or strong desire to learn and apply these new skills
