About the Position

Maropost is looking for an experienced communications specialist to join our growing marketing team in Chicago. Never heard of us? That’s because we’re new to Chicago and brand awareness is a current challenge. This role is responsible for promoting and protecting all Maropost brands and bringing our teams throughout Canada, the U.S., and India together through internal communications. The ideal candidate will have experience successfully distilling complex concepts into compelling stories, a passion for technology, and a strong writing background.

Throughout the first three months, this candidate should develop a strong command of our business, our brand voice, and the marketing technology industry. The communications specialist will work with our talented team of designers, digital marketers, sales representatives, and product talent to create written materials and communications that help build and engage our target audience. This position includes internal and external communications, public relations, analyst relations, and social media responsibilities, and will report to our Director of Communications.

Core Responsibilities:

• Enable strategic and significant growth for our brands through internal and external communications
• Help refine, protect, and activate messaging for all of our brands
• Identify opportunities for thought leadership bylines and press releases
• Write persuasive content for social media, press releases, award applications, analyst surveys, presentations, executive bylines, and more
• Build our audience and engage with our community on social media
• Own our monthly internal newsletters, and partner with HR on internal communications needs
• Monitor local and global news, industry trades, and social media for trends, sharing findings with relevant team members
• Build relationships with press, analysts, and industry thought leaders, and respond to requests
• Support our product marketing team with product launch announcements
• Provide writing and editing expertise to team members, as needed
• Contribute creative concepts for marketing campaigns

What You'll Need to Bring to Maropost

• Minimum of 4 years experience in a public relations, communications, or journalism role
• Steadfast communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to think on the spot
• Strong writer and meticulous editor with a proven track record of successful content
• Interest in emerging technologies with a growth mindset, bringing a willingness to challenge existing assumptions and adapt alongside a rapidly changing landscape
• Proactive and persistent collaborator with a talent for extracting interesting information from the right people to craft engaging stories that are aligned with our brand
• An ability to juggle multiple deadlines and effectively lead through difficult and urgent situations
• An appetite for tough challenges, smart risks, and change
