What we are looking forWe're looking for a driven personal finance nerd to join our marketing team as our content marketing manager. You'll be responsible for scaling and executing M1's content strategy, working with teams across the organization to bring content to life.
The right candidate will have experience scaling and executing content marketing strategies at high growth, high performance companies. They will also have a strong understanding of key topics and cultural moments that align with the M1 brand: a premium personal finance platform.
This role reports to the Senior Content Strategy Manager.
What you'll do:
- Partner across the entire Marketing team (and wider organization) to drive our content roadmap, reach our target audience, and execute against content KPIs
- Own editorial strategy, process, planning, and execution (editorial calendar, blogs, newsletters, third-party sites, etc.)
- Oversee day to day content workflows, assignments, and proofreading/editing
- Partner with our Digital/SEO Specialist, Content Strategist, and Senior Content Strategy Manager to further establish and execute organic traffic strategies
- Partner with our Social Media Strategist to develop campaigns and content calendars
- Support product launches, major marketing moments, and other branded content opportunities
- Oversee the identification, development, submission, and amplification of relevant awards
- Drive thought leadership strategy and opportunities
- Build reporting and generate insights on content marketing projects and channel performance to support user acquisition and growth
- Work to vet, scope, and define content opportunities and campaigns
- Uphold brand and regulatory standards in content
- Own and leverage content and freelance budgets as applicable
- Consistently level up your knowledge and the team's knowledge of personal finance topics
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing (in-house or agency)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, particularly when it comes to delivering feedback
- Strong writing, research, and editing skills-you enjoy taking work from outlines to publication
- Strong command of business and personal finance concepts, including market news, trends, behavior, and more
- Proven track record of working on tight deadlines and in changing environments
- Proficiency in using data to define approaches and success, in particular with testing and improving performance
- Interest in personal finance, behavioral finance, financial wellness, and related topics
- Self-starter who thrives in entrepreneurial, collaborative environments
- Passion for learning, growth mindset
The following are a huge plus:
- Experience marketing financial services, fintech, or crypto products.
- Experience driving thought leadership and executive content strategies.
