The Digital Marketing & Personalization Consultant is responsible for directing, planning and implementing strategies for the company's public websites, with an emphasis on personalization. You'll join a fast-paced, cutting edge digital marketing team that manages the company's public web sites and digital programs, and consults with our business units on their digital marketing initiatives. Summary

The role is responsible for consulting with our business unit marketers to lead, plan and implement strategic goals, policies, and procedures for the company's digital channels, with emphasis on personalization and A/B testing for NorthernTrust.com.. The digital marketing strategist will utilize content strategy, customer journey mapping, data, technology and experimentation to develop, deliver and monitor personalization for the company's public web sites. This role will provide strategic consulting to our business unit marketers to identify, develop and scale personalization opportunities. This role focuses on consultation to advise our business partners on how to translate business goals into successful digital programs.

Major Duties

  • Develops understanding of business unit data and customer journey mapping to identify viable personalization opportunities.
  • Executes personalization strategies, aligning use cases to stages of the customer journey.
  • In collaboration with business unit marketers, monitors and maintains personalization tests.
  • Optimizes and experiments with different strategies to increase traffic and engagement with our public websites including social and search referral traffic.
  • Manage and groom backlog of enhancements for the public websites to achieve marketing goals.
  • Works with business units to ensure that campaign messaging is consistent across all channels and consistent with Corporate Marketing messaging and branding.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing and Creative teams to seek out and recommend new brand and marketing opportunities and initiatives.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Personalization technology knowledge and experience; Adobe Target product experience required
  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing and data reporting
  • Strong consulting skills, including the ability to lead and influence others and work effectively with internal clients, vendors, management and team members
  • Ability to work individually and collaboratively with others on projects. Demonstrate a consultative approach in guiding discussions related to digital marketing strategy
  • Excellent communicator, easily adaptable, exceptionally organized, have strong presentation skills and have the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Solid project management skills, editing skills, customer service, ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail

Experience Required

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • 6 + years digital marketing experience with a minimum 3 years testing or personalization experience.
  • Demonstrated personalization expertise required

Experience Preferred

  • Financial services or related, regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Use of Adobe Target and Adobe Experience Manager Certification preferred.
