The Media Partnerships group at Peapod Digital Labs creates the fuel needed to grow a thriving omnichannel business at each of the local brands of Ahold Delhaize USA.
The Lead Advertising Technology sets the strategic framework for generating profit from PDL's portfolio of monetized advertising channels. They are responsible for developing and executing the long-range plan that will drive non-linear growth of the media portfolio. As an expert in modern AdTech and retail media this person will have direct ownership of all digital, in store, print and other non-digital advertising channels that scale across multiple or all local brands and that are critical to driving media monetization revenue. An entrepreneur at heart, this person will use their expertise, as well as sound financial and risk analysis to vet prospective and existing channels, and to maximize profitability and effectiveness while minimizing risk and opportunity costs. They will set and direct PDL Media's near-term and long-term strategy for utilizing best-in-class AdTech to meet or exceed media publishing standards (ie. DSP, DMP, Ad Servers, Data Onboarding, Online/Offline Attribution).
They work hand-in-hand with IT teams at agencies, PDL, RBS, as well as brand teams (i.e, Store Operations and Digital Merchandising), to identify, develop and grow monetized channels. This person also supervises and directs an Advertising Technology Manager by setting strategic vision, ensuring operational excellence and individual development.
Recipe for Success - What's "in store" for the role
Responsible for the supply of retail media inventory sold by PDL on behalf of the local brands of ADUSA, ensuring that solutions are at parity or better than comparable retail media groups.
Owner and Driver media supply strategy, including the development, deployment and management of online, instore and data-enabled advertising technology and monetization channels for PDL.
Develop, propose and deliver digital and in-store product roadmaps to ensure the PDL Media ecosystem is modern, effective and best-in-class.
Optimizes business efficiency by exploiting synergies, eliminating redundancy and driving shared solutions throughout the AdTech stack.
Track ROI of mature and developing monetized channels to ensure that revenue targets are being hit, and lead efforts to make adjustments as necessary.
Create SLAs and develop/utilize tools that enable proactive performance and health monitoring of advertising products, maximizing uptime and minimizing negative impact on media revenue.
Implement tagging/tracking tools in accordance with industry best practices to improve transparency of vendor-funded advertising and it's impact on the underlying retail business.
Work directly with the Vendor Success Lead to maximize the value of each monetized channel (fill rates, sell through rates, customer engagement) to hit short- and long-term financial targets.
Provide training to Vendor Success Managers on existing and emerging media platforms.
Partner with internal stakeholders and key support agencies to manage the advertising technology stack, including creating connections with third party ad networks, trading desks and re-marketing capabilities.
Management of the onsite and email ad servers, including first-and third-party data integration.
The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients
7-10 years of experience in digital advertising technology, retail media, place-based media or other relevant service
5-7 years of relevant experience in digital advertising technology, publisher monetization or yield management, digital advertising operations or sales, online advertising technology sales or services.
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree is a plus
Advertising Technology and Marketing Automation, particularly within retail applications
Ad serving, publisher yield, fill rates and performance optimization
Retail media trends and best practices
Data management platforms
Data onboarding/matching (i.e. Liveramp)
Online/Offline media measurement, attribution
