Job Description

NielsenIQ’s Internal Communications team develops and executes communications strategies that help our global associates connect to NIQ’s mission, strategic priorities, values, culture and brand.

The Director, Internal communications role oversees communications related to our people and operating model, with a special focus on enterprise-wide messaging, large-scale change initiatives, HR priorities, D&I, and employee engagement.

This role will partner with senior HR, finance, and legal leaders on communications tactics that engage a diverse global population. You’ll also lead a team that owns our global communications channels, including the intranet and personalized newsletter.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute innovative internal communication strategies that drive employee engagement and support global initiatives, diversity and inclusion, and culture. 

  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders to ensure priorities and messaging are aligned and consistent with the overall company strategy and culture.

  • Create communications plans for critical global initiatives that help leaders achieve their business and engagement goals.

  • Partners with the Global Head of Internal Communications to set direction of company-wide communications, including process improvements and data-driven decision making.

  • Builds strategy to enhance current internal communications platforms, including events, videos, social networks, and other creative tools. 

  • Interact with key stakeholders to be proactive in addressing communication issues, needs and opportunities. 

  • Deliver on innovative communication solutions to improve employee awareness, understanding and advocacy of NielsenIQ’s mission, priorities and values. 


Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in communications, public relations or related field preferred.

  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in communications including employee communications, culture and D&I communications. 

  • Exceptional and persuasive written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Proven ability to influence and gain the trust of senior leaders, as well as build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to effectively lead, manage, motivate and develop a team.

  • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to pivot and move forward in ambiguous situations.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to show up as a communications expert. 

  • Ability to facilitate and distill multiple perspectives from senior executives into communications that will resonate with all associates.

  • Ability to make decisions in a rapidly changing environment and perform in situations under tight timeframes. 

  • Ability to translate complex business issues into understandable, creative and strategic communications. 

  • Ability to handle sensitive or proprietary company information in a confidential manner. 

  • Strong background working in virtual and global team environment
